In August and December 2017, a group of artists and students created a new production of The Tale of Peter Rabbit. Featuring live music and puppets, this touring production has upcoming productions in Utah, Pittsburgh, and at the Piccolo Spoleto Festival in Charleston, South Carolina.

The creative team is Tamara Goldbogen, Director; Lisa Leibering, Puppets and Set; Julianne Avolio, Actor; John Michnya, Actor; Lynzee Linnarz, Musician; Jessica Francis, Dramaturg/Musician; Erinne Roundy, Set; Megan Ann Rassmussen, Assistant Director.

TAMARA GOLDBOGEN is the Beverley Taylor Sorenson Endowed Chair for Arts Learning at WSU where she oversees a statewide arts integration program and teaches in the College of Arts & Humanities, College of Education, and Honors program. She serves on the board of directors of Theatre for Young Audiences USA. Tamara holds a BA from the College of Charleston and an MFA from the University of Texas at Austin. (

LISA LEIBERING is a professional theatrical designer, puppeteer, and teaching artist, living in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She holds an BFA in Puppetry/Children’s Theatre from West Virginia University, a MA in Theater for Youth from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a MA in Theatre from the University of Pittsburgh. JULIANNE AVOLIO is a Pittsburgh-based actor and teaching artist. She studied at the University of Pittsburgh where she earned a degree in Theatre Arts and a Certificate in Children’s Literature with a focus on Theatre for Young Audiences. She is the Artistic Director of her own TYA company, In Between Theatre. (

JOHN MICHNYA is a Pittsburgh-based actor, director, teaching artist, and a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross and the University of Pittsburgh. John is an illustrator and screen printer at Revival Print Co (

ERINNE ROUNDY is the Arts Learning Collaborative’s Program Assistant and an Art Teacher at North Davis Preparatory Academy. Erinne holds a BS in Visual Communications/Design from WSU.

MEGAN ANN RASMUSSEN graduated from Brigham Young University in 2001. From 2003-2005 she served as Producing Artistic Director of the Firehouse Theatre for Youth, a not-for-profit organization she founded.

LYNZEE LINNARZ is a student at WSU interested in studying nursing. Tamara discovered Lynzee in an Honors TYA and Puppetry class and her to join the Peter Rabbit creative team. Lynzee is on the Dean’s List and is an accomplished violin player. She has created a lovely soundscape for Peter Rabbit.

JESSICA FRANCIS is a student at WSU studying accounting. Tamara discovered Jessica in an Honors TYA and Puppetry class and her to join the Peter Rabbit creative team. Jessica is turning out to be a great dramaturg!
